5 Fun Halloween Dinner Ideas | This Week’s Meal Plan

Halloween week is here, and we’re leaning into all the festive food! This week’s meal plan is full of familiar family favorites with a few spooky twists: ghost-shaped pie crusts, jack-o’-lantern grilled cheese, bone-shaped breadsticks, and more.
The best part? You don’t need five elaborate Halloween recipes to make dinner feel special. A cookie cutter, a little creativity, and a few favorite recipes are all it takes.
Here’s what we’re making this week!
Monday: Ghost Chicken Pot Pie

We’re starting the week with one of our favorite cozy dinners, dressed up for Halloween! This creamy chicken pot pie has all the comforting goodness of the classic, but instead of a traditional top crust, it’s covered in adorable little pastry ghosts.
Why we love it: It’s a complete, comforting dinner that feels festive without adding much extra work. The kids can even help cut out the ghosts we love this Halloween cutter set from Target!

Tuesday: Halloween Ravioli with Lemon Alfredo Sauce

If you’ve spotted Costco’s festive bat- and pumpkin-shaped ravioli, this is your sign to grab some! We’re pairing it with our favorite homemade lemon Alfredo sauce for a fun Halloween pasta night.
Why we love it: The ravioli does all the decorating for us! Our lemon Alfredo adds a creamy, bright finish that makes this feel a little more special than your average weeknight pasta.

Wednesday: Jack-o’-Lantern Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup

Grilled cheese and tomato soup is already one of our favorite cozy fall dinners, so why not give it a Halloween makeover?
Use a small knife to cut jack-o’-lantern faces into the top slices of bread before grilling, then serve with a big bowl of our favorite homemade tomato soup.
Why we love it: It’s an easy, inexpensive way to make an ordinary dinner feel like a Halloween celebration. Plus, grilled cheese dipped in tomato soup is hard to beat!

Thursday: Spaghetti & Bone-Shaped Breadsticks

We’re serving up a big pot of spaghetti with our favorite homemade sauce, alongside breadsticks shaped like little bones!
Simply roll your favorite breadstick dough (we love Mel’s Kitchen Cafe recipe) into long pieces, snip or shape the ends to resemble bones, and bake until golden. It’s a fun little addition to a classic family dinner.
Why we love it: Everyone loves spaghetti night, and the bone-shaped breadsticks make it extra fun. Mel’s Kitchen Cafe has one of our favorite homemade spaghetti sauces, and it’s great for making ahead!

Friday: Sheet Pan Chicken Fajitas & Jack-o’-Lantern Quesadillas

We’re finishing the week with our favorite sheet pan chicken fajitas and a festive little side!
To make jack-o’-lantern quesadillas, cut pumpkin faces into one tortilla, sprinkle cheese over another, and place the cutout tortilla on top. Cook until the tortillas are golden and the cheese is melted.
Serve alongside the fajitas with all your favorite toppings!
Why we love it: Sheet pan fajitas are already an easy weeknight win, and the little pumpkin quesadillas are such a simple way to get everyone excited for dinner.

A Little Halloween Magic at Dinnertime
Halloween doesn’t have to mean elaborate themed meals or hours spent in the kitchen. Sometimes it’s as simple as using cookie cutter for pie crust (we love this Halloween cutter set from Target) or turning a grilled cheese sandwich into a jack-o’-lantern.
We hope this week’s Halloween meal plan gives you a few fun ideas to make the days leading up to trick-or-treating feel a little more special.
Happy Halloween from all of us at The Threads Between!
