4 Fall Dessert Recipes We Make Every Year

Once the weather starts cooling down, we’re ready for all things pumpkin, apple, cinnamon, and cream cheese frosting.
There are endless fall dessert recipes out there, but these are four we come back to year after year. We’ve got our favorite pumpkin bars, the pumpkin chocolate chip bread that tastes just like the one from Great Harvest, easy applesauce muffins, and a classic apple pie.
Basically, if you’re looking for something cozy to bake this fall, start here.
1. Pumpkin Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting

These pumpkin bars are one of those recipes that has made its way through our family and gets pulled out every fall. They come from a recipe handed down to Eliza from her mother-in-law and are a true favorite. They’re soft, warmly spiced, and covered with cream cheese frosting.
The recipe makes a big 10×15-inch pan, so it’s especially good when you need something to bring to Sunday dinner, a party, a church activity, or anywhere you’re feeding a crowd.
Why we love it: Easy, feeds a crowd, and that cream cheese frosting. FULL RECIPE HERE!
2. Great Harvest Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread from A Bountiful Kitchen

If you love Great Harvest’s pumpkin chocolate chip bread, this copycat from A Bountiful Kitchen is SO good.
It’s moist, full of pumpkin and warm spices, and loaded with chocolate chips. Even better, the recipe makes two loaves, so you can keep one and pass the other along!
Why we love it: Pumpkin + chocolate, and it makes your whole house smell like fall. Get the full recipe HERE!
3. Applesauce Muffins from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe

These are technically muffins, but we’re counting them because they’re one of our favorite things to bake once apple season rolls around.
They’re made with applesauce and oats and are the kind of simple muffin that’s great for breakfast, after-school snacks, or grabbing on the way out the door. And if you’ve made a batch of our homemade applesauce, this is a great way to use some of it.
Why we love it: Simple, cozy, and something the kids will happily eat for breakfast or a snack. Full recipe HERE!
4. Classic Apple Pie from Natasha’s Kitchen

It wouldn’t be a fall dessert list without an apple pie.
Natasha’s Kitchen has a classic apple pie recipe with a flaky crust and plenty of cinnamon-spiced apples. It’s the one to pull out when you want the full fall baking experience, and preferably a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Why we love it: Sometimes you just need a really good, classic apple pie. Get the recipe HERE!
What Are You Baking This Fall?
If you don’t know where to start, pick one and make your way through the list before fall is over.
These are the kinds of recipes we love passing between sisters, the ones someone makes once, everyone asks for the recipe, and before long we’re all making them.
If you have a fall dessert you make every single year, send it our way. We’re always looking for another one to add to the rotation.
