Brownie Bats

Fudgy brownies cut into bats with candy eyeballs, served with a cold glass of chocolate milk. No decorating skills needed.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 12 bats
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 pan brownies baked in a 9×13 pan and completely cooled (boxed mix is perfect)
  • 24 candy eyeballs
  • Frosting or chocolate spread a dab to stick the eyes on
  • Chocolate milk for serving

Method

  1. Bake the brownies in a 9×13 pan so they come out thin, and let them cool completely. Chilling them in the fridge for an hour makes cutting much cleaner.
  2. Press a bat cookie cutter firmly into the brownies and wiggle it gently to release each bat. Cut them as close together as you can.
  3. Lift each bat out with a thin spatula so the wings do not break.
  4. Dab a tiny bit of frosting on the back of two candy eyes and press them onto each bat.
  5. Serve with a cold glass of chocolate milk.

Notes

Line the pan with parchment so you can lift the whole slab out before cutting. Dip the cutter in warm water and wipe between cuts for cleaner edges. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Why We Love These Brownie Bats

No rolling, no chilling dough, no decorating skills needed. Kids can do the cutting and the eyes all by themselves, and every bat ends up with its own funny expression. Let’s be real, the scraps are the baker’s reward.

Tips

  • Line the pan with parchment so you can lift the whole slab out before cutting.
  • Dip the cookie cutter in warm water and wipe it between cuts for cleaner edges.
  • Save the scraps for brownie sundaes or crumble them over ice cream.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
