How to Make Copycat Chick-fil-A Cobb Salad
1. Cook the Chicken
Prepare your favorite breaded chicken nuggets according to the package directions. The Costco brand is our favorite! We love using the air fryer to get them nice and crispy.
Let them cool slightly while you prepare the rest of the salad. You can leave the nuggets whole or chop them into bite-sized pieces.
2. Prepare the Salad Toppings
Wash and chop the romaine lettuce, slice the hard-boiled eggs, halve the cherry tomatoes, and cook and crumble the bacon.
If you’re using frozen corn, cook it according to the package directions and let it cool before adding it to the salad.
3. Make the Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing
Add the avocado, mayonnaise, ranch seasoning, avocado oil, lime zest, lime juice, apple cider vinegar, salt, cumin, sugar, and buttermilk to a blender or food processor.
Blend until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
Taste and adjust the seasoning or lime juice to your preference. If the dressing is thicker than you’d like, add a little more buttermilk until it reaches your desired consistency.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
4. Assemble the Salads
Divide the chopped romaine between four bowls.
Top each with crispy chicken nuggets, sliced hard-boiled eggs, shredded Colby Jack cheese, corn, cherry tomatoes, and crumbled bacon.
Finish with a generous drizzle of homemade Avocado Lime Ranch and enjoy!
The Secret Is the Homemade Avocado Lime Ranch

As much as we love all the toppings, the dressing might just be our favorite part of this salad.
It’s creamy, tangy, and full of flavor, with fresh avocado, lime, ranch seasoning, and just a little cumin. The buttermilk gives it that classic ranch flavor and helps make it perfectly pourable.
And the best part? Everything goes straight into the blender. No complicated steps or extra dishes.
A little tip: This dressing thickens as it sits in the refrigerator. If you’re making it ahead, just stir in an extra splash of buttermilk before serving.
